General Field Professional - MLT (Multilateral)

Job Duties

  • Under broad direction, provides on-site supervision of the Multilateral Tools (MLT) process on critical, non-routine jobs (e.g., jobs involving new equipment and/or those in new locations), including the installation, operation, and retrieval of multilateral tools.
  • Leverages understanding of principles of Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHA) selection and aspects of MLT tool performance to ensure that BHA's are assembled as planned including correct make-up torque, doping and handling.
  • Maintains daily reports, End of Job Customer Survey (EJCS), service tickets, and all other relevant paperwork.
  • Maintains records of all MLT equipment at wellsite, and ensures equipment is laid out after use according to company procedures and manifested for backload at the end of the job.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on MLT process.
  • Advises the refinement/improvement of existing installation, operation, and retrieval procedures and develops procedures for installation, operation, and retrieval of new types of equipment.
  • Responsible for company assets on location.
  • Assures that adequate supplies and equipment are present at well site at all times.
  • Facilitates communication between customer and the Solutions team and ensures required data are provided to customers.
  • Assists in evaluation of individual performance levels of onsite MLT personnel and trains, coaches, and mentors more junior MLT personnel.
  • Requires a high school diploma and a minimum of four years' total experience, including at least three years' experience as as a Field- Prof-MLT, Sr.

  • Gain and utilize expertise in specific aspects of a PSLs' technology and services portfolio to educate Customers, Operations and BD on features, advantages and benefits of the PSL solution offerings.
  • Under broad direction, the Technical Sales Advisor job family is accountable for Delivery Execution. This entails pursuing excellence in all day-to-day activities, identifying technical needs of customers through product knowledge and geographic understanding of challenges, aiding the BD organization in pursuit of work through customer interaction and internal/external workshops, providing technical recommendations to BD for proposal preparation regarding solution upsell, aiding operations and BD in the diagnosis and communication of solutions delivery issues, all utilizing a detailed knowledge base of a majority of the sub-PSL products, services and solutions.
  • Technical Sales Advisors help establish the strategic direction in the work area through clear understanding of the local customer's business drivers and technical challenges and are responsible for identifying and executing up-sell (POP Plan) strategies within a geography of responsibility.
  • Responsible for enhancing the brand equity of the PSL through increased participation of writing/co-authoring technical papers with the industry recognized bodies such as SPWLA, SPE, IADC, etc. 
  • Responsible for coordinating any technical forums and presentations within the country of responsibility and is the key communicator of technical sales and marketing information within the work area.
  • Executes tactical action plans as set by the Country.
  • Helps to establish a network of subject matter experts within the Country for each relevant sub-PSL technology.
  • Utilizes project management skills and tracking tools in the organization and execution of project assignments.
  • Provides leadership and direction to the Technical Advisors in the work area, conducts goal setting and performance appraisals of matrix Technical Advisor personnel.
