Job Description

Landmark, the geosciences technology branch of Halliburton, is opening a position for a Junior Geology & Geophysics Onsite Consultant to work at the office of a major energy company in Bergen. Halliburton provides the most advanced G&G applications for seismic processing, interpretation, geological modeling, AVO analysis, well-tie, velocity modeling, reservoir simulation, visualization and well planning, all integrated in the industry's leading corporate database which allows users to seamlessly collaborate and share their work without the need for data duplication.

The G&G Onsite Consultant will provide assistance to users of the DecisionSpace Geosciences application and the OpenWorks database by answering questions, troubleshooting, providing mentoring, building and optimizing workflows so the customers get the most out the software. Users are located in different cities and countries.

The Consultant will be part of a highly successful G&G onsite team with multidisciplinary knowledge, wide individual experience in other countries which contributes to the overall growth of the team. And will work in a technology-driven environment where communication happens in various levels, such as Viva Engage, Teams, SharePoint.

Qualifications:

The candidates must have a MSc. in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering or other Geosciences-related degree.

Awareness of the general progress of Artificial Intelligence, its applications and limitations.

Knowledge of automating repetitive tasks via scripting (ex: AWK, shell), a programming language (ex: Python, Octave/Matlab), or a productivity application (ex: Planner, Power BI).

Some understanding of Linux and network environments.

Personal qualifications:

Excellent social interactivity and interpersonal communication skills.

Curiosity and will to learn new tools.

A team-player, sharing knowledge and information with the colleagues.

Organized when planning time spent on tasks and follow agreed deadlines.

Positive service attitude and contribute to a good working environment

Language:

In this position, it is important that you are fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal.
