About the Role
We are seeking a Seismic Data Loading & Data Science Specialist to support our geoscience and subsurface teams by managing, loading, enriching and validating seismic datasets. The role combines traditional seismic data management with modern data science and API‑driven workflows to improve accessibility, automation and data quality across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Load, validate and manage seismic datasets into national digital repositories or data banks
  • Perform detailed quality control (QC) on seismic data, navigation, metadata and attributes
  • Assist in creation and update of data management workflows and best practice documents
  • Develop and maintain data science workflows to analyze and validate seismic data
  • Use APIs to integrate seismic data with data lakes, cloud storage and internal applications
  • Automate repetitive data loading and QC tasks using scripting and data pipelines

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience loading seismic data (SEG‑Y, SEGD, navigation files, metadata)
  • Strong understanding of seismic data structures, formats, and QC best practices
  • Data science skills using Python
  • Experience working with APIs (REST/JSON)
  • Ability to design and maintain automated data workflows and pipelines
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Geophysics, Geology, Data Science or related discipline
  • Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS)
  • Understanding of machine learning or advanced analytics applied to seismic data
  • Experience of National Digital Resources or Seismic Data Banks
  • Understanding of data governance, FAIR principles and digital subsurface strategies


Language:
The candidate should have good communication and collaboration skills.
