Supervisor Maintenance - IEM

Job Description

About the role:

As an Electronics Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and developing both internal and external maintenance resources across one or more operational locations. You will coordinate maintenance activities to ensure that Halliburton’s equipment meets availability, reliability, and quality expectations, while also maintaining strict adherence to Norwegian safety regulations and internal HMS (HSE) standards.

You will play a key role in implementing maintenance strategies, optimizing the use of staff and equipment, and ensuring accurate data management in Halliburton’s systems of record (SAP).

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operational Management

  • Supervise and develop maintenance personnel, ensuring strong technical competency within electronics, electrical systems, and automation.
  • Plan and organize maintenance activities to ensure efficient use of staff, tools, facilities, and equipment.
  • Manage internal and external resources to execute maintenance work efficiently across assigned locations.
  • Collaborate closely with Production Service Lines (PSLs) and other internal functions to maintain high-quality communication and service delivery.

Technical Maintenance Execution

  • Implement maintenance strategies that support asset reliability, uptime, and service quality.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic and automated equipment, including control systems, sensors, instrumentation, and PLC-based systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with relevant Norwegian regulations (e.g., FSE – Forskrift om sikkerhet ved arbeid i og drift av elektriske anlegg, and required electrical/electronic competence certifications).
  • Maintain a strong focus on continuous improvement and technical optimization.

HMS / HSE Responsibility

  • Ensure strict adherence to Halliburton’s HMS standards and all relevant health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Norwegian safety legislation and best practices.
  • Actively participate in and implement safety training programs, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.

Data & Process Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely entry, maintenance, and reporting of maintenance data in SAP.
  • Maintain strong documentation practices in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and internal quality reviews.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Vocational certificate, technical college degree, or bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in electronics/electrical maintenance, instrumentation, or automation—preferably within oil & gas, energy, or heavy industry.
  • Experience supervising teams or leading maintenance operations.
  • Strong understanding of HSE principles and Norwegian regulatory frameworks.

Preferred:

  • Experience with automated control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation calibrations.
  • Knowledge of SAP maintenance modules or similar data systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement projects and mentor junior technicians.
