Summer Internship Program for Engineering Students

Job Description

Halliburton is offering a summer internship program designed for engineering students seeking meaningful industry experience, exposure to modern technology, and the opportunity to learn from recognized professionals in the energy sector. This program enables students to apply academic knowledge in a practical environment while gaining insight into the operations of a global organization. Throughout the internship period, participants will receive continuous guidance and support from an assigned mentor and supervisor.

We are seeking candidates who identify with Halliburton’s core values: Safety, Trust, Respect, Integrity, and Collaboration.

Program Benefits

During a 6–8week internship, selected candidates will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to a real-world project with measurable impact
  • Receive one‑on‑one mentorship and professional guidance
  • Participating in scheduled check‑ins with a mentor and supervisor
  • Gain hands-on experience with Halliburton’s tools, systems, and methodologies
  • Receive an introduction to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards
  • Build a professional network with subject matter experts, leaders, and fellow interns
  • Strengthening both technical and interpersonal skills

Eligibility Requirements

Qualified applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of at least two years of an accredited engineering degree program
  • A minimum of one year of academic study remaining following the internship
  • Enrollment in one of the following disciplines:
    Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0/5 or 7/10
  • Legal authorization to work in Norway
  • Relevant prior experience through internships, volunteer work, or academic projects is advantageous but not required

Important: Applicants must include a CV, academic transcripts, and diplomas, and must clearly indicate their GPA in the cover letter.
Applications lacking the required documentation will not be considered.

Preferred Personal Qualifications

We are looking for students who demonstrate:

  • Strong critical thinking skills and a willingness to ask questions
  • Effective communication skills in English (Norwegian proficiency is an advantage)
  • Curiosity, engagement, and a commitment to high-quality service and results
