Sr. Completion Engineer - Completion Tools

Stavanger, Rogaland, Norway

Job Description

Due to increasing workload and an exciting outlook in the Multilateral Technology (MLT) and Lower Completion department, we are looking for a proactive Sr. Completion Engineer with a strong technical background and experience in lower completion/ open hole completion systems.

We are looking for someone who can identify with Halliburton’s values: Integrity, Safety, Collaboration, Trust and Respect.

The engineer will work closely with our customers to identify, optimize and implement solutions for their specific challenges. This person will be an important part of our local engineering team, acting as a focal point for clients, third party vendors and Halliburton global support functions.

Work Tasks:

The engineer will be responsible for the creating, updating and performing of well site instructions.  Typical tasks covered in this include: 

  • Identify the optimal completion solutions for customers.
  • Provide technical support, recommendations and expertise.
  • Manage designated projects from concept to installation.
  • Responsible for calculations, simulations, risk assessments and procedures in connection with completion designs and operations.
  • Collaborate with the Service Coordinator to plan all details for offshore operations.
  • Participate actively in pre- and post-job meetings with both customers and offshore operators.
  • Assist sales department with customer presentations and contractual follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor (BSc) or Master degree (MSc) within relevant technical disciplines.
  • Relevant experience in Completion operations (5 years+) is required.
  • Experience in Lower Completion or Multilateral Technology is preferred.
  • Drilling or Reservoir engineering experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience using software for tubing movement and torque & drag is desirable.
  • Confident in having Norwegian and/or English as working language.

The candidate must have good organizational skills and be able to handle complex and challenging situations in a professional manner.  Excellent communication skills will be important to perform well in a collaborative working environment.
