Job Description

We are looking to strengthen our engineering organization and are hence looking for Well Design Engineers for our team in Norway. We have a well-established team that either work at the customer office or in the Halliburton Campus in Stavanger, where we collaborate with the customer geologists and drilling engineers to find the best solution for the wells we are planning.

We are looking for experienced engineers who work independently in both trajectory design and engineering disciplines. The right candidates are motivated persons who contribute both towards customer and internally with engagement and knowledge, and who thrives with and enhances a good working environment.

Job description

The position will work with both customer geologists and drilling engineers as well as a cross-PSL team in Halliburton to deliver well construction services for our clients. Main tasks are:

  • Design well trajectories together with client and Halliburton staff
  • Run Anti-Collision analysis towards existing wells.
  • Perform Torque/Drag modelling for drilling BHA and casing running
  • Hydraulic setup and analysis of drilling operations
  • BHA-modelling to verify designs.
  • Evaluation of real-time data and verification of models
  • Database management of survey databases
  • Rotational duty with the rest of the team

Personal qualifications

Candidates that are team oriented, collaborative and exhibit good communication skills will be preferred. We seek a person who can work independently and have a drive to seek solutions within the team, proactive and self-driven will be preferred. You need to work in a structured manner and the position requires that you champion the Company's HSE and SQ procedures.

Technical qualifications

  • Master’s degree in petroleum engineering or similar disciplines
  • Knowledge of Landmark applications such as Compass and WellPlan is an advantage
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English.
  • Good presentation skills.
