Expandable Liner Hanger Technical Advisor - Completion Tools

Job Description

Due to increasing workload and an exciting outlook in the Expandable Liner Hanger department, we are looking for a proactive and technically strong Technical Advisor.

We are looking for someone who can identify with Halliburton’s values: Integrity, Safety, Collaboration, Trust and Respect.

The engineer will work closely with our customer to identify and optimize solutions for their specific challenges. This person will be an important part of our local engineering team as well as communicating closely with resources in our global organization.

Work Tasks:

You will be responsible to perform the Design of Service.  Some of the typical tasks include:

  • Identify the optimal liner hanger solutions for customers.
  • Provide technical support, recommendations and expertise.
  • Take control of your own projects from concept to installation.
  • Responsible for calculations, simulations, risk assessments and procedures in connection with liner hanger designs and operations.
  • Work closely with the Service Coordinator to plan all details for offshore operations.
  • Participate actively in pre and post job meetings with both customers and offshore operators.
  • Assist sales department with customer presentations and contractual follow up.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor (BSc) or Master degree (MSc) within relevant technical disciplines
  • Relevant experience in Liner Hanger operations (10 years+) is preferred
  • Offshore experience running Liner Hangers is a big advantage
  • Experience using software for tubing movement and torque & drag is desirable.
  • Able to handle English and/or Norwegian as working language.

Personal qualifications

The position requires that you champion the Company's HSE & SQ best practices. The candidate must have good organizational skills and be able to handle complex and challenging situations in a professional way.  Excellent communication skills will be important to perform well in a collaborative working environment.

Provides engineering expertise to external customers. Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies. Problems are characterized by their lack of scientific precedents and source material, or lack of success of prior research and analysis so that their solution would represent an advance of great importance. Job role functions as a technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far reaching impact on extensive engineering and related activities of the company. Skills typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering and 10-15 years of oil field service experience including experience in business development and experience managing the work of others.
