Job Description
- Under general supervision, applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design analogue and digital electronic circuits and/or firmware for downhole, subsea and surface interface systems
- Uses software tools or applications to analyse and conduct tests on electronic circuits or systems and document performance in comparison with design criteria
- Identifies the testing requirement at a system level with the emphasis on complying with test standards and Halliburton’s Health, Safety, and Environment procedures and evaluates test results
- Independent preparation of component specifications, design documentation and preparation for design reviews
- Contributes to reliability analysis such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis by compiling and examining data
- Contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by preparing Invention Disclosures and recognizing ideas that have IP potential without disclosing confidential information
- Works as integral part of multi-discipline team including Electronics Hardware Engineering, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, assembly and test, and Software teams
Qualifications
- Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. Completion of a Masters in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred
- Experienced in Analogue and Digital electronics design
- Experienced in Software/Firmware design, particularly Embedded C programming on microcontrollers
- Experienced in Troubleshooting and diagnose prototype and production tools
- Experienced in Design of electronic test programmes
- Experienced in Specification of electromechanical systems
- Experienced in PCB schematic capture and layout design using Altium software or similar
- Experienced in High temperature and rugged electronic design
