Job Duties and Qualifications

Internship Project Title: Framework for Computational Fluid Dynamics models on design concepts evaluation for high flow rates

Problem Statement:

During oil well completions installation, equipment are frequently subjected to high flow rates in the annulus of the wellbore. The fluid flow across critical components on the equipment may cause damages or malfunction downhole which will result in expensive remedial measure. Improving Halliburton’s equipment flow rating is essential to ensure product reliability in these environments and is achieved by enhancing product performance thru design and development using computer aided analytical software and cutting-edge material.

Objectives:

This internship placement will help develop a framework on the optimized approach to analyze new concepts to high flow challenges using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models.

  • Provide analytics for CFD simulation results on various component concept subjected to a high-rate fluid flow.
  • Analyse fluid flow, and related high speed flow phenomena in new product designs and recommends design improvement to the CFD model for optimization.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Develop a framework (Standard) and templates for future CFD base research.

Typical qualifications/requirements:

  • Undergraduate with a study/research subject(s) on Fluid Dynamics with utilization of Computational Fluid Dynamics software for flow modelling and simulation.
