Cota, Cundinamarca - Colombia:Senior Application Security Engineer - Landmark

Siberia, Cundinamarca, Colombia

Job Description

We are looking for the right people — people who want to innovate, achieve, grow and lead. We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry.

Job Duties

We are looking for a Senior Application Security Engineer to support a global Application Security team. The candidate combines hands-on AppSec experience, secure SDLC knowledge, DevSecOps practices, cloud security awareness, and a practical understanding of AI/ML security risks. He/She will work closely with engineering, platform, product, security, and operations teams to ensure security is embedded by design across the full software development lifecycle.

This role directly supports the protection of business-critical software and modern digital platforms. It will contribute to building secure applications, improving DevSecOps maturity, strengthening cloud security practices, and enabling the responsible adoption of AI technologies. They should be capable of understanding technical use cases, identifying realistic attack paths, explaining risk clearly, and helping teams move from findings to remediation. This role requires someone who can think like an attacker, communicate like a trusted advisor, and operate with ownership, professionalism, and strong follow-through.

Qualifications

  • Professional English proficiency, both written and verbal. All technical and business communication will be conducted in English.
  • Full-time availability from Monday to Friday; occasional weekend availability only for critical needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent background in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in Application Security, Cybersecurity, DevSecOps, Cloud Security, Secure Software Development, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and secure development practices.
  • Solid knowledge of network architecture, cybersecurity fundamentals, and application attack vectors.
  • Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of SAST, DAST, SCA, vulnerability management, and security testing workflows.
  • Experience working with GitLab or similar code repository and CI/CD platforms.
  • Practical understanding of AWS and/or Azure consoles, cloud services, IAM, logging, networking, and secure deployments.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, deployment pipelines, automation practices, and basic coding or scripting concepts.
