Job Duties and Qualifications

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
  • Master's and/or Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering is desirable.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience (including academic and/or industry background) in equipment/tools design, modeling, simulation, and testing;
  • Experience in design, assembly and testing solutions in Oil & Gas, aerospace and/or defense industry is required;
  • Experience in the design of Machine Elements;
  • Experience with Quality Control of manufactured mechanical parts of tools and equipment – G,D&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing);
  • Advanced knowledge CAD tools – SolidWorks is preferable;
  • Advanced knowledge of CAE tools – Ansys and/or SolidWorks are preferable;
  • Timely document technical reports;
  • Experience with Engineering Management, including participation in R&D projects;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of ownership;
  • Ability to innovate and think outside the box, self-starter, self-motivated;
  • Required to have strong communication, leadership, teamwork, adaptability, problem solving, critical observation, and conflict solving skills;
  • Fluent in English.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Responsible for designing, testing and documenting the mechanical subsystems of a Halliburton wireline tool under development.
  • He/She will design mechanical systems and commission with advisory from US-based Subject-Matter Experts and Brazil-based Discipline Leader.
  • He/She will collaborate with Halliburton development teams based in the US and Singapore.
  • He/She will work close to the Mechanical Engineering team, Systems Engineer and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).
