Job Duties

  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
  • Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
  • Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
  • Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solves complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools.
  • Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams.
  • Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
  • Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
  • Work close to the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC). 

Qualifications

  • Completion of a master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2 years of experience in R&D.
  • Experience in design solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi disciplines is desirable.
  • Experience in design solutions for well intervention applications involving multi disciplines is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Risk Assessment and FMEA.
  • Knowledge of communication systems/solutions (data compression and transmission).
  • Troubleshooting of communication electronics and proficiency in using lab equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuit design and in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G or aerospace) is desired.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with common interface protocols, such as I2C, SPI, RS485, RS232, CAN, USB, etc.
