Brazil - RJ - Rio de Janeiro: UX Researcher OR Senior UX Designer

Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Job Description

We are looking for the right people — people who want to innovate, achieve, grow and lead. We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry.

Job Duties

Design the future of decision-making in energy.
Landmark, Halliburton’s technology division, is modernizing a global enterprise platform used by geoscientists and engineers to make high-impact operational decisions. We are expanding our UX team and hiring for two dedicated roles:
  • UX Researcher
  • Senior UX Designer
These are distinct positions with focused scope, though hybrid profiles with strengths in both areas are welcome.
This is not incremental UI work. It is large-scale UX modernization across complex, legacy and cloud-based applications. You will help elevate product clarity, usability, and trust in deeply technical workflows used around the world.
You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and customers to embed user-centered thinking into roadmap decisions and product execution.

What You’ll Do

If You Are a Senior UX Designer
You will lead the design of complex workflows and deliver end-to-end solutions that raise the craft quality of Landmark applications.
  • Own UX design for major workflows or product areas
  • Translate business and technical requirements into intuitive, scalable design solutions
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished visual designs
  • Apply and extend the Landmark design system; contribute new patterns when needed
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineers to align requirements and deliverables
  • Validate designs with users and iterate based on feedback
  • Participate in and elevate design reviews across the organization

If You Are a UX Researcher
You will embed insight into product strategy and modernization efforts, ensuring decisions are grounded in real user needs.
  • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research across complex enterprise workflows
  • Lead usability testing, interviews, contextual inquiry, and journey mapping
  • Identify unmet user needs and opportunity areas within legacy and cloud applications
  • Synthesize findings into actionable insights for product and engineering teams
  • Influence roadmap decisions through evidence-based recommendations
  • Establish scalable research practices within product teams
  • Partner with designers to validate concepts and measure experience improvements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Senior UX Designer
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating enterprise or technical product design
  • Mastery of interaction and visual design
  • Proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping tools
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Familiarity with Angular or React-based systems preferred
UX Researcher
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, HCI, Psychology, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Experience conducting research in enterprise or technical domains
  • Strong qualitative research skills; quantitative experience a plus
  • Ability to translate research into product and business impact
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional product teams
For Both Roles
  • Experience navigating complex technical environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder influence skills
  • Comfort working in legacy systems undergoing modernization
  • A desire to shape and elevate UX within a global enterprise organization
