Job Duties

Under direct supervision, this role supports tax reporting and compliance activities, applying a foundational understanding of the Internal Revenue Code or other applicable regulatory frameworks and their relevance to financial (general ledger) data. The position is responsible for preparing tax computations with oversight from senior team members. Responsibilities may include working with tax regulations and accounting provisions, assisting in the preparation of statutory filings and tax returns, and providing support to Tax Managers during audits and when responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
The role may focus on compliance or provision responsibilities, offer guidance on indirect tax matters, and advise on best practices for preparing and submitting documentation to the Internal Revenue Service. It conducts federal, international, and/or state tax research as needed.  Additionally, the position prepares and reviews VAT, Withholding Tax, ATS, ISD, RDEP, and other filings required by the SRI. It verifies withholding rates based on supplier type, transaction nature, and tax regime. The role also manages municipal tax obligations—including business licenses, fees, and contributions—and ensures proper reconciliation with accounting records.

Qualifications

  • Degree in: Accounting and Auditing, Finance.
  • Minimum experience: 3–5 years in Audit firms, Tax and accounting departments.
  • Practical knowledge of: LRTI and its regulations, SRI Resolutions, Municipal tax rules. 
  • Proven experience in preparing SRI annexes and indirect tax returns. 
  • Strong command of Ecuadorian tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of internal tax controls.
  • Intermediate to advanced English.
  • Excel, SAP FI/CO experience (desirable)
