Job Duties

Under broad direction from the Senior Production Advisor and the Integrated Asset Management senior management and with support from engineering and operations staff across HAL product service lines (PSL), the Production Advisor works within a senior, multi-discipline technical team that evaluates developing potentially large, challenging unconventional plays and mature oil and gas fields for potential investment. The Production Advisor analyzes production history, well files, gathering, transportation and processing equipment. Models decline curve analysis and nodal analysis of inflow versus outflow performance between the reservoir and the wellbore. Forecasts production and cost of upgrading facilities. After investment, identifies innovative ways to apply HAL production technology, service capability and expertise to improve efficiency, production and costs resulting in new, step-change field exploitation methodologies. This production technology, service capability and expertise includes completion systems - tubing selection, perforating, sand control and fine migration, matrix stimulation, water control and hydraulic fracturing; artificial lift equipment - sucker-rod lift, gas lift, electrical submersible pumps, subsurface hydraulic pumps, progressing-cavity pumps and plunger lift; real-time surveillance and monitoring systems; waterflooding and other enhanced recovery techniques. Additionally, mentors production personnel and oversees work and decisions from the Field Development Plan and Production teams including decline curve analysis and nodal analysis to select workover or re-completion candidates and equipment for gathering, transportation and processing production. Requires an undergraduate degree in petroleum, chemical, or mechanical engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience in production operations including experience in oil & gas operations and management.
