Procurement Specialist - Senior- Procurement Specialist

Job Duties

  • Under direct supervision, plans sourcing of goods and services to support manufacturing, field operations, technology, or project management strategic plans at the plant level.
  • Complies with and executes Category Management strategies in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Issues purchase orders in response to material requirements established by manufacturing, field operations, or projects.
  • Implements agreements for local procurement of goods and services not covered under Category Management.
  • Creates request for quotations (RFQ) and organizes competitive biddings from various suppliers to obtain the best quality, delivery, and price for goods and services.
  • Assesses supplier performance. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Completion of an undergraduate degree in a technical, business, or similar discipline required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or production environment. Advanced procurement certification preferred (CPM, etc.). Purchase to Pay knowledge is desirable.

About the Role

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials required for operations. This role ensures cost efficiency, quality compliance, and timely delivery while adhering to company procurement policies and industry regulations. The specialist collaborates with engineering, operations, and category teams to support production, maintenance, and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle: RFQ/RFP issuance, bid evaluation, negotiation, and purchase order issuance.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Manage post–Purchase Order activities including delivery schedule coordination, delivery date re-alignment with suppliers, and resolution of GR/IR discrepancies in coordination with finance and logistics teams.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with logistics teams for timely delivery of materials
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, spend consolidation and negotiations
  • Analyze market trends, supply risks, and pricing fluctuations for critical commodities.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for procurement transactions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply, quality compliance, and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor vendor performance using key metrics such as delivery timelines, product quality, cost competitiveness, and service reliability
  • Proven experience coordinating and managing vendors and suppliers across international markets.
  • Coordinate with U.S.-based stakeholders by working night shift hours in India aligned with Central Standard Time (CST).
