Job Duties

Under general supervision, the Superintendent is accountable for all rig operations at project level for up to 3 rigs. Responsible for providing support for all drilling and other well operations taken at the rig site, as well as, ensuring HMS processes are applied in the execution of well construction. Oversee and lead day-to-day drilling initiatives, anticipate operational changes, find and implement remedial solutions to operational drilling problems, and prepare and execute short term and long term plans anticipating required resources (rigs, personnel, services). Capable of supervising, advising, and motivating a diverse team of Well Site Supervisors while emphasizing collaborative teamwork, training, performance, efficiency improvement, safety and environment, cost control, and adherence to established policies and procedures. Identifies methods to apply technology, best drilling practices, service capability and expertise within the context of drilling operations. Communicates with Well Engineers, Rig Contractors and Operator representatives on a regular basis to ensure all parties are aligned with Project metrics. Responsible for the training & development of Well Site Supervisors and their competency development and provides work direction and mentorship on a regular basis to Well Site Supervisors. Requires commitment to quality from all employees, PSL's, and subcontractors working on the Project. Manages service providers and third party contractors with respect to contracts and deliverables. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in petroleum, mechanical, Engineering or similar STEM degrees.
  • 12+ years Drilling and Completions Project experience or related industry experience.
  • 5 years experience in a supervisory position
  • Experience as a Well Site Supervisor and working in different work environments or International locations is preferred.
  • Advanced English Proficiency is mandatory.
  • Have a “can do” attitude as well as energy and passion for learning.
