Job Description

We are looking for candidates for our Landmark office in Oslo. This is a full-time position within the Landmark Reservoir Center of Excellence as a Subject Matter Expert Software Engineer.

The ideal candidate is a reservoir engineer, geoscientist, facilities engineer, or drilling engineer with a strong understanding of field development workflows, combined with solid software development experience. You will work within a cross-domain application software engineering team, developing data-driven applications for Agile Asset Management (AAM) software solutions.

You will use your subject matter expertise and software engineering experience to support the deployment and growth of our technology, helping customers make better decisions for their assets. The role involves collaborating with new and existing clients to develop new applications, solve real-world challenges, enhance our application portfolio, and build innovative solutions in ensemble modeling and simulation domains.

A software engineer in the Reservoir Center of Excellence is curious, customer-focused, eager to learn, and enjoys a varied role with significant responsibility toward both the company and its clients. Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or Geosciences.
  • Good understanding of geological processes and reservoir engineering principles that influence the static and dynamic behavior of hydrocarbon reservoirs.
  • Good understanding of the integrated field development process within the oil and gas industry.
  • Good understanding of the full reservoir modeling workflow and associated uncertainties, including experience with geomodeling tools and commercial flow simulators.
  • Previous experience with an E&P company and/or oilfield services company is advantageous.
  • Strong software engineering background.
  • High proficiency in Python.
  • Working knowledge of Git.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, F#, and JavaScript.
  • Passion for building software tools for reservoir modeling, simulation, and decision-making.
  • Commitment to writing maintainable, production-grade code.
  • Ability to thrive in a Lean/Agile environment

  • Structured, analytical, and proactive approach to solving technical challenges.
