Job Description

Depending on the job location, lodging and rotating schedule may be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, will assist during rigging-up and rigging-down of surface and down hole well logging equipment on work locations for the purpose of recording information about sub-surface geologic formations 

  • Assists during the rigging-up and rigging-down of surface and down-hole well logging equipment including electric, nuclear, sonic, other well logging tools, and pressure control equipment 

  • Assists during the operation of well logging equipment at job site 

  • Assembles down hole well logging tools (electric, nuclear, sonic, and other well logging tools) 

  • Maintains, cleans, and performs preventative maintenance on down-hole and surface well logging equipment 

  • Assists in the performance of pre and post job vehicle and equipment inspections and associated paperwork and/or reports 

  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations 

  • Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines 

  • Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes 

Education:  

  • Must have High school diploma or equivalent education 

Requirements

  • Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required in certain locations.
  • Must have a satisfactory driver record with no DWI/DUI convictions in the past three years or any current DWI/DUI charges 

  • Successful completion of the Well Control Accreditation Program 

  • Successful completion of water survival training 

  • Completion of Operator Assistant I – Logging and Perforating competencies, or similar level of competence from previous industry experience  

  • Able to communicate effectively with others  

  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations  

  • Basic reading comprehension and writing skills required 

  • Able to perform basic computer skills  

  • Able to pass background, physical and drug screen 

  • Able to lift up to 60lbs  

  • Able to pass background, physical and drug screen 

  • Able to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions 

  • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, long work days, and/or irregular work hours, be on-call with short notice and exposed to extreme weather conditions 

  • Maintains effective working relationship with other employees
