Notodden, Vestfold og Telemark, Norway

Job Description

Take technical and execution leadership in complex subsea operations

Optime, A Halliburton Service, is a leading innovator within subsea well operations, delivering technology that enables safer, faster, and more sustainable execution. As our project portfolio grows in scale and complexity, we are strengthening our Services organization and are now seeking a Lead Engineer who will take an active role in engineering coordination, execution planning, and customer-facing technical leadership.

The role

As Lead Engineeryou will act as a technical execution lead within Optime’s Services organization. The role bridges engineering, operations, and project delivery, with responsibility for ensuring that service-related engineering activities are planned, coordinated, and executed in line with operational and customer expectations.

You will work closely with Offshore personnel, Project Engineers, and project management, acting as a key technical integrator throughout the execution lifecycle. The role includes close collaboration across locations, and regular interaction with the engineering team and workshop in Notodden is considered an advantage.

The role follows the operational tempo of subsea projects, requiring flexibility during critical planning and execution phases. Some travel is expected, including opportunities to support at onshore sites and to support offshore when relevant.

What you will do

In this role, you will take ownership of the technical execution scope within Services, with responsibilities typically associated with end‑to‑end responsibility for technical execution, coordination, and delivery within the Services scope.

You will:

  • Lead and coordinate engineering execution and planning activities for offshore service campaigns
  • Drive well planning activities, ensuring alignment between operational needs, technical scope, and customer requirements
  • Act as a primary technical point of contact toward customers within the Services scope
  • Own and maintain procedures, operational documentation, and execution descriptions
  • Provide structured technical input as part of Onshore Support during offshore operations
  • Coordinate across engineering disciplines and operational teams to ensure execution readiness
  • Safeguard HSE, quality, and operational performance across all service-related engineering activities
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive enhancements to equipment, documentation, tools, and ways of working
  • Contribute to standardization, experience transfer, and continuous development within the Services organization

What we are looking for

  • MSc or BSc in Engineering (relevant experience may compensate)
  • Solid experience from subsea oil & gas, preferably within intervention, workover, or well operations
  • Experience taking technical ownership and coordination responsibility in execution‑oriented environments
  • Strong understanding of engineering support, operational planning, and offshore execution
  • Comfortable working in periods of high operational activity and execution focus
  • Ability to support operations through targeted travel aligned with project and operational needs

Personal qualities

  • Structured, proactive, and delivery‑oriented
  • Strong technical judgment with the ability to balance quality, risk, and progress
  • Clear communicator and natural coordinator
  • Comfortable interfacing with customers, engineering teams, and operations
  • High integrity and professional credibility

Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
Norwegian language skills are considered an advantage.

Why join Optime

At Optime, a Halliburton Service, you will take part in shaping how complex subsea operations are planned and executed. You will work in a highly competent, pragmatic environment with short decision paths and strong collaboration between engineering and operations.

We offer:

  • A high‑impact lead role close to real operations and customers
  • Broad technical and execution responsibility
  • Strong professional environment with influencing power
  • An inclusive, flexible, and collaborative workplace
