Job Duties and Qualifications
This role oversees the development of new products, from concept to commercialization, by managing the process from the creation of functional specifications to detailed design and field testing. The position is responsible for developing the next generation of Subsea product solutions under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Designs hardware for product changes and new development by applying functional specifications and using engineering tools under general supervision.
Independently processes data, writes engineering reports, and diagnoses routine hardware malfunctions.
Assists with reliability analysis, such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), by compiling and analyzing data.
Identifies testing requirements at a system level, ensuring compliance with test standards and Halliburton’s Health, Safety, and Environment procedures.
Contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by preparing Invention Disclosures and recognizing ideas with Intellectual Property potential while safeguarding confidential information.
Works with project leads to deliver project results by evaluating input requirements and applying functional specifications.
Builds strong relationships through excellent communication skills and serves as a key resource, offering innovative solutions. May participate in professional societies within their area of expertise.
Qualifications:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
Familiarity with 3D Solid modeling platforms (SolidWorks), MathCAD, Simplified FEA analysis, and Mechanical Design fundamentals.
Experience with designing Subsea Electrical Connectors, electronics, and electrical troubleshooting is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of API 6A, 11D1, 14A, 17G, and/or API 19TT is preferred but not mandatory.
Minimal to moderate international travel may be necessary to meet project needs.
A master’s degree is the minimum educational requirement.
