Job Duties

  • Act as the senior technical specialist for Directional Drilling services, supporting complex and high-profile drilling operations.
  • Lead the preparation, technical review, and delivery of Design of Service (DOS) packages for drilling services.
  • Interface directly with customers to understand current and future engineering requirements, project objectives, and operational challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and decision support during planning, execution, and post-job phases.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for additional services, integrated solutions, and new technologies for existing customers.
  • Perform risk assessments, apply critical lessons learned, and ensure mitigation strategies are embedded into future operations.
  • Lead and participate in post-job reviews, technical failure investigations, and formal reporting to customers.
  • Serve as a technical mentor, performing peer reviews and supporting the development of less experienced engineers and advisors.
  • Advise customers and field personnel on equipment capabilities, operational complexity, and technical limitations.
  • Publish and present technical papers and case studies through accredited industry societies, when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).
  • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in drilling services, including directional drilling and well construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of directional drilling principles, well planning, trajectory design, BHA concepts, and drilling optimization.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles, including technical presentations and solution consulting.
  • Ability to work across office and field environments, supporting operations throughout the well lifecycle.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
