Job Duties
- Learn the fundamentals of the Surface Data Logging (SDL) service line under direct supervision.
- Assist with the collection and reporting of on-site geological and drilling data for customers.
- Develop a basic understanding of drilling theory, mud logging techniques, and related job responsibilities.
- Collect drilled cuttings at specified depth intervals.
- Handle the transportation of drilled cuttings and maintain records of transported intervals.
- Ensure the work area is kept clean and organized.
- Attend training sessions and participate in on-the-job development activities related to:
- Mud logging fundamentals
- Data collection and reporting
- Gas system operations
- Complete induction courses and other required training programs.
- Obtain necessary safety, offshore, operational, and customer-specific certifications to access designated rig sites.
- Apply knowledge gained through an undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline or Geology.
- Demonstrate technical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
- Utilize strong communication, arithmetic, data entry, and record-keeping skills.
- Successfully pass company assessments and meet task guideline requirements.
- Work in an entry-level SDL field position designed for individuals with little or no experience in the petroleum or related industries.
- Perform duties primarily in a field-based environment.
