Job Duties and Qualifications

Under general supervision, supports tax reporting with a core understanding of prevailing statutory authority and it's applicability to financial (general ledger) data. Responsible for activities supporting financial close process, account reconciliations and supporting financial pronouncement and tax technical research, as applicable. 

​​​​​Brief job description:

  • Review and manage direct and indirect tax compliances for both Malaysia and Philippines covering income tax, tax estimate, transfer pricing, withholding tax.
  • Prepare/review the monthly corporate tax provision and tax accounting reporting (ie. deferred tax computation)
  • Prepare/review the annual tax return and coordinate with tax agents to ensure the tax returns are in order and timely submission.
  • Advise and attend to queries from stakeholders/business partners where required.
  • Assist with audits/appeals, communicate/liaise with tax authorities to ensure that all tax affairs are resolved on a timely manner.
  • Keep abreast of latest tax developments/updates and analyze the implication to the business
  • Other ad-hoc assignment /duties as and if required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related certification/qualification (e.g. CTIM, MIA) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in taxation
  • Good understanding of tax rules, regulations and practices.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to details.
  • Knowledge in the Philippines taxation and/or regional exposure is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
  • Good in Microsoft Office especially Microsoft Excel.
