Tax Manager - Senior Tax Manager

Job Duties and Qualifications

  • Under broad direction, manages US indirect taxes to include sales & use tax, unclaimed property and severance tax on a multi-state basis across multiple legal entities
  • Responsible for audit defense / controversy strategies, including audit design, technical research, audit workpaper review and audit appeals
  • Directly manage sales/use tax compliance team
  • Responsible for tax technical research/analysis to support tax positions taken
  • Special Projects
  • M&A transaction support
  • Systems experience including SAP/Vertex preferred
  • CCH/RIA or similar research tool experience required
  • Responsible for mentoring, career development and coaching of personnel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving ability, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in larger SALT team environment
  • Requires an undergraduate degree in accounting or related field and 7+ years of US indirect tax experience
  • Applicable professional certification preferred
  • Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirement will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from the Tax Manager up to the Senior Tax Manager
