Seismic Processing Product Manager

Houston, Texas, United States

Job Description

We are looking for the right people — people who want to innovate, achieve, grow and lead. We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers. Experience the challenges, rewards and opportunity of working for one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the global energy industry.

Overview:

Halliburton is seeking a technology and business leader to serve as the Product Owner (PO) for our Seismic Processing and Imaging software portfolio. This position is based at the Halliburton–Landmark headquarters in Houston, TX, and may require up to 30% international travel. We are looking for a seasoned processing geoscientist with experience leading internal technology teams, providing technical expertise to regional sales associates, and managing external partner relationships.

Job Duties

This role is a combination of Product Marketing, Business Development, and Software Team Management responsibilities. While the position does not require hands-on seismic processing, the ability to run the software and provide usability guidance is a significant advantage.

The role is responsible for driving the successful development of new products and features, as well as managing the full product lifecycle. This includes day-to-day direction of a software development team in coordination with the development lead and scrum master. As Product Owner, responsibilities include defining user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritizing the team backlog, and ensuring delivery of features that meet customer expectations.

A deep technical understanding of seismic processing is essential to this role—not only for effective backlog prioritization but also to answer complex customer questions, support sophisticated sales cycles, and help close technically demanding deals.

In coordination with the Geophysics R&D Domain and Solution Owners, the PO will design the overall business strategy, investment model, vision, and scope of the seismic processing products, incorporating the latest technologies and research. This role also drives the cloud deployment strategy for our seismic processing portfolio.

As a Product Owner who can also support Business Development (BD), the PO will actively assist sales and operations in product rollout, training, technical content creation, and opportunity development. This includes traveling to regional offices and customer sites to support deal closure and strengthen customer relationships through deep technical credibility.

The PO helps establish partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers, third parties, and industry thought leaders. They are accountable for securing funded development when appropriate, identifying new product and business opportunities, and monitoring industry/competitive trends that may require strategic adjustments. They are responsible for packaging, pricing, and marketing of their product families.

The PO is expected to participate in industry associations, organizations, and consortiums, including attending events and contributing to publications—in order to evangelize SeisSpace through thought leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex seismic processing concepts to customers and support high-value sales opportunities

Beneficial Experience
