Scientist Physics (Principal - Advisor) Sperry Drilling

Job Duties

Responsibilities:
•    Under broad direction, applies theories, principles and practices to the research and development of new and improved products, processes and procedures.  
•    Performs routine research and experimentation at the direction of Senior Scientists and Team Leaders. 
•    Document progress in laboratory notebooks, reports, procedures and designs.  
•    Communicates occasionally with Technical Client Personnel. 
•    Responds as directed by Senior Scientist and Team Leaders to customers’ needs. 
•    Participates in Professional Societies.  
•    Development and maintenance of data output algorithms for electrical measurement sensors
•    Develop, build, and adjust calibration models for measurement sensors
•    Ability to analyze large data sets and recognize trends to resolve data integrity issues
•    Job role contributes directly to value creation.  


Qualifications:
•    Skills typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Science, Engineering or similar discipline, and 7 years of related experience. 
•    Completion of a masters or PHD in Science or Engineering is preferred.
•    Previous experience in oil and gas industry
•    Previous experience with directional drilling survey tools and associated data sets



Candidates with qualifications exceeding the minimum job requirements will be considered for higher-level positions based on their experience, additional job requirements, and current business needs. Depending on their education, experience, and skill level, candidates may be eligible for a range of job opportunities, including positions ranging from Principal Scientist Physics to Scientist Advisor Physics.
