Procurement Specialist - Baroid

About the Role

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing goods and services that support manufacturing, field operations, technology, and project activities within Baroid. This role partners with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure materials and services are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with business objectives.

The position supports procurement planning, supplier management, competitive sourcing, and purchase order execution while ensuring compliance with Category Management strategies and company procurement policies. The Procurement Specialist plays an important role in maintaining supply continuity, optimizing supplier performance, and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute sourcing activities for goods and services supporting manufacturing, field operations, technology, and project requirements.

• Issue and manage purchase orders based on material requirements, production schedules, and operational needs.

• Support implementation of Category Management strategies while ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

• Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

• Coordinate with manufacturing, operations, logistics, and supply chain teams to resolve procurement and material availability issues.

• Support inventory planning and material availability through effective procurement execution and supplier communication.

• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and documentation requirements.

• Promote Lean, continuous improvement, and cost optimization initiatives across procurement activities.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or related discipline.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, or production environments.

• Experience with purchase order management, supplier communications, and procurement processes.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Preferred

• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, energy, or oilfield operations.

• Knowledge of Category Management, strategic sourcing, or supplier relationship management.

• Experience with ERP systems and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes.

Candidates who possess qualifications exceeding the minimum job requirements may be considered for higher-level positions based on experience, additional qualifications, and current business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, candidates may be eligible for roles ranging from Procurement Specialist to Senior Procurement Specialist.
