Benefits Data Analyst

Job Duties

  • Project management of international retirement governance projects, including third party financial and compliance audits, actuarial valuations, proof of life audits, missing terminated participants and ad hoc projects
  • Review, develop and support the maintenance of relevant internal and external benefits process documentation
  • Conduct audits of payroll and IT processes to troubleshoot eligibility data discrepancies and ensure third party data is accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with other departments on escalated participant issues – legal, Finance, local HR, etc.
  • Assist with vendor oversight – TPA's, actuaries, advisors, consultants
  • Act as escalation point for ad hoc plan participant inquiries
  • Assist in the implementations of new vendors, regulatory changes and/or plan design changes
  • Support RFP activity as appropriate
  • Escalation point for domestic and international benefits platform, in partnership with local teams, Global Benefits, third party vendors and IT
  • Ad hoc benefits data audits – contracts vs invoices, performance metrics vs contracts, data discrepancies, etc.
  • Data analytics – reviewing proposed vs actual ROI and utilization of programs offered; review claims activity and identify key indicators and viable solutions
  • Retirement plan (401k) data processing / discrepancies – payroll adjustments, weekly funding, escalated issues.
  • Support Finance with required data for government filings (i.e. Form 5500)
  • Complete nondiscrimination testing for retirement plans
  • Act as project manager to ensure completion and distribution of mandated notices – SAR’s, annual 401k notices, Notices of Creditable Coverage, etc.
  • Review, develop and support the maintenance of relevant internal and external benefits process documentation
  • Other ad hoc requests as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of benefits consulting experience, preferably both retirement and healthcare
  • at least one actuarial exam completed 
  • 3+ years of experience with data analytics, focusing on healthcare data analysis/mining
  • 3+ years project management experience
  • Must have very good analytical, technological and communications skills
  • Familiarity with SF, SAP strongly preferred
  • Ability to effectively leverage third-party applications
  • Must be a self-starter and intellectually curious
  • Must be able to thrive in a dynamic work environment
  • Must be willing to travel internationally 25%-50% of the time
