Georgetown - Guyana: Entry Level Logistics Specialist- Supply Chain Management

Job Duties

Under strict supervision, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for properly packing, marking, labeling, and obtaining weight and dimension information for cargo. The role coordinates pre-shipping instructions and maintains shipment logs, files, and supporting documentation. The incumbent manages the domestic and international movement of goods in compliance with applicable regulations and prepares the required documentation for shipments. Responsibilities include coordinating cargo movement from origin to destination to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery and communicating with customers regarding shipment status and progress. The position assists Finance & Accounting with the validation of rates and charges on invoices and utilizes SAP and other logistics systems to process transactions and ensure the accurate and timely movement of goods. The role also records logistics performance data, tracks trends, and helps identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, service levels, and cost efficiency. Accurate execution of duties contributes directly to cost containment, operational efficiency, profitability, and overall business operations. Entry-level position; no previous experience required.

Qualifications

  • Associate/ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Basic understanding of the end-to-end logistics process cycle.
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements for domestic and international shipments.
  • Knowledge of transportation constraints and hazardous materials movement.
  • Understanding of at least one mode of transportation (ocean, air, or land).
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate company applications and systems.
  • Ability to utilize SAP, TMS, and other logistics systems to access and process transactions.
