Hunting Guide / Ranch Hand

Job Duties and Qualifications

Seeking hunting guide Position includes staff lodging, private bath, TV, meals, and numerous benefits. The lodge is located approximately 10 miles south of Falfurrias, Texas.

Role requires a knowledge of hunting, firearms, firearms safety, and interpersonal communication skills that will enable the individual to effectively guide hunting trips. Knowledge of deer, nilgai, javelina, hog, quail, and dove is required. Position also requires a working knowledge of hunting firearms and ammunition, a Hunter Education Certificate, a valid driver's license, a basic knowledge of auto mechanics, and the ability to lift, unassisted, 100 lbs. A knowledge of game laws, upland game species, their habitats, and the ability to field dress of game animals is required. In addition, some knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and or electrical repair is a plus.

Employees are encouraged to live on the premises during the hunting season, which is located in a remote region of South Texas. Prospective applicants should keep in mind that the remoteness of the Lodge, along with a prolonged hunting season limits the opportunity to visit with family and friends.

Requirements:

  • Skills are typically acquired through 10 plus years' experience in hunting, fishing, and camping in the outdoor recreation and guide industry.
  • Non-Commercial Driver's License required.
