Job Duties
Responsibilities:
• Under broad direction, this position is responsible for advising the company concerning simple to moderately complex legal issues related to oilfield commercial contracting activities.
• Acts as a company advocate and advisor with respect to legal matters, provides guidance concerning legal rights and obligations, and recommends best practices and courses of action related to legal issues, reviews and negotiates contracts with internal and external clients in line with company policies and standards.
• Researches the intent of laws and judicial decisions and applies them to specific circumstances as applicable to company business. Interacts with vendors, customers, and internal clients of the company and manages outside counsel with the assistance of supervising attorney.
• Must adhere to a strict code of ethics.
Requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree is required, while a Master's degree is preferred.
• In the US, a Juris Doctor (JD) in law is required.
• Three years of experience in oilfield commercial contracting is required.
• Must be licensed to practice law in applicable areas.
Candidates who possess qualifications exceeding the minimum job requirements will be considered for higher-level positions based on their experience, additional job requirements, and current business needs. Depending on their education, experience, and skill level, candidates may be eligible for a range of job opportunities, including positions ranging from Attorney, Counsel to Senior Counsel.
