Reservoir Engineering Advisor

Job Duties

  • Develop and apply advanced reservoir engineering techniques in support of the evaluation and development of potentially large, yet challenging oil and gas field development projects.
  • Applies advanced reservoir engineering principles, data analysis, and simulation techniques to evaluate field performance, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure delivery of production and reserves targets in alignment with client objectives.
  • The Reservoir Advisor will support prospect evaluation work by providing historical offset well performance evaluation (production decline curve analysis), determination of reservoir rock and fluid properties, well nodal analysis, well test analysis, dynamic uncertainty/risk management analysis, field development/re-development planning, recommendations for production enhancement, deterministic as well as probabilistic in-place hydrocarbon volumetric calculations, dynamic reservoir simulation, EUR / recovery efficiency analysis, production forecasting, reserves estimation, preliminary economic analysis, and other work related to reservoir understanding / development.
  • Solid grounding in Reservoir Engineering and working knowledge of production engineering, geosciences, geologic operations, logging, directional drilling, petrophysics, drilling & completions, rock and core sampling and analysis.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify and implement production enhancement opportunities. Additionally, translates technical insights into actionable operational and development plans.
  • Be actively involved in technical engagements, present to and establish strong working relationships with senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Present to and participate in internal and external reviews ensuring work deliverables are robust and fit-for-purpose.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced reservoir and production engineers within the asset team.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices, digital tools, and innovative techniques in reservoir engineering workflows.

Qualifications

  • Requires an undergraduate degree in petroleum engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering.
  • Requires field development and reservoir management experience working directly (preferred) or indirectly on a producing field for an oil & gas operator.
  • Extensive experience in clastic and/or carbonate reservoirs; exposure to mature or brownfield assets preferred.
