Explosive Technician I - Wireline

Job Duties

  • Under direct superivison, assists in the implementation of the Company's Explosive Safety Program under the close supervision of the Explosive Safety Officer.
  • Performs explosive safety activities according to approved policies and procedures while providing adequate protection of public health and safety.
  • May interface with Manufacturing & Technology, Procurement & Materials, Export Controls, and operations personnel as assigned organizational levels, acting as an advisor.
  • Works closely with the Explosive Safety Officer on record-keeping, audit reviews, and analyzing exposure information.
  • Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: maintaining training and annual retraining records as required by license(s) and policy, maintains key database key assignments, security forms and lost keys.
  • Maintains explosive license files and all related documentation, may involve interfacing with federal and state explosive licensing agencies. 
  • Required activities may also include: assisting in the preparation of reports, providing general technical advice, researching records and assisting in the implementation of procedures.
  • Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
  • Consequences of error are easily measured and can be confined.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Two (2) year technical or college degree preferred.
  • Skills are typically acquired through 3-5 years experience in explosive safety and regulation compliance and computer skills, written and oral communication skills. 
  • Specialized technical training preferred
