Job Duties

  • Under direct supervision, assists in planning and conducting tests on materials, components, subassemblies, and tools.
  • Acquires working knowledge of test procedures and techniques.
  • Debugs straightforward test setup problems and troubleshoots tools and equipment.
  • Documents test procedures, data, observations, and results.
  • Assists in planning and conducts assembly of components for prototype tools and for tests.
  • Acquires working knowledge of assembly tools and techniques.
  • Documents assembly procedures and techniques.
  • Acquires parts for prototypes; solicits help from and provides help to manufacturing as necessary; and assists in release of new designs into production.
  • Acquires working knowledge of materials, components, and their application.
  • Incorporates Reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques in all job processes.
  • Job tasks impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. 

Qualifications

  • Skills typically acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree in a related field of science or 2 years experience working in a related technician, manufacturing and/or field operations capacity.

  • Performs a variety of simple assembly/machine operating functions associated with the manufacturing of explosive products.
  • Is trained to operate laser marking equipment, and potentially semi-automated manufacturing presses and automated equipment such as charge presses and liner presses.
  • Employee is responsible for monitoring performance and reporting abnormalities in the process including equipment malfunction.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions precisely.
  • Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
  • Performs other essential functions which may be assigned by management. 

Qualifications

  • Skills typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED. Entry level position, no prior work experience required.

Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.  Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Associate Explosive Products Operator, Explosive Products Operator, or Senior Explosive Products Operator.
